Viral warts & other nodules
Skin papules and nodules are slightly elevated lesions on or in the skin. Nodules are larger than papules - over 5 mm in diameter.
The patient will usually consult because of concern about cosmetic appearance or the possibility of malignancy.
Common causes are: viral warts, sebaceous cyst, lipoma, skin tags and skin tumours. If it bleed easily, it can be a granuloma.
Viral warts, molluscum contagiosum and granuloma can be treated with Liquid Nitrogen spray (Cryotherapy).
Other skin nodules may need total surgical excision.
